So class what have we learned? (LOL) 1. You can find good quarter horses in alaska, but did you know that all of the Pitcher Ranch breeding herd has been carefully selected and Imported?! Now Thats a lot of Horses! 2. A Free Horse is easy to find, but hard to get rid of. 3. Generally, You get what you pay for! 4. Buying a younger horse you know it will grow, but buying a poor quality horse it will always stay that way! A low quality horse is just as expensive to keep as a great quality one. If you spread the added expense over the life of the horse you buy it is usually well worth the extra investment. Same with investments into your DREAMS. Be sure they are really FUN! It's simple math! |
Gain a skill set in basic horsemanship. It might be quite a bit more fun than you think the pitcher way! Flo pitcher gives basic riding lessons all year round in all weather, (or indoors). You might find yourself forging a lake, or jumping a snowbank! and saying to yourself...WOW when did I learn to ride this well!
AT LEFT: The Pitcher herd is really enjoying the winter snow! Look at how nice the foals are growing!
With Great Sorrow We announce that Alcine Pitcher passed away on December 2, 2007. She was a breeder of Peruvian Paso horses. Some of her blood stock was used to re-introduce the gaited traits back into the Nez Perce horses. She was also a good friend of Cowgirl Hall of fame's Gertrude Maxwell. Alcine was a Christian woman who went to Church, prayed at dinner time and read from the Holy Bible. She is survived by her Husband Darvin Pitcher, and her five children Cole, James, Dan, Mike and Roseanne. Her many Grand Children and Great Grandchildren will indeed miss her knowledge, love and presence.
Alcine was a beautiful woman who could wrangel with the best of men.

Mare Owners may order color coat tests for their mares at: http://www.vgl.ucdavis.edu/ Due to public demand Black Prince Hancock, and HeBe White Lighting have both got color coat tests due back in May 2008, from University of Davis in California. With that said, a fine foal of any color is a good one!
Notice: Pitcher Ranch is importing two lovely mares this season. However as usual, We haven't specifically imported any "sale" horses for 2008. The ranch has focused more on aquiring and producing it's own herd of exceptional quality equine stock. We're happy with WHO we've got lined up to perform and produce for Pitcher Ranch. We think you will be also! Each year there will be great quality AQHA horses being prepared for long term placement, with quality training and valuable advise available when you need it. If you dream of owning an outstanding prospect, please keep us in mind. We've dedicated ourselves to helping you reach for your dreams and avoid the pitfalls of "sale horse" purchases. Offers on our equine stock are not always accepted, but always respectfully entertained by serious horse folk.
